Christopher Mody, Director of Clinical Services at Heidelberg Engineering Limited, discusses understanding and interpreting the normal retinal vasculature of OCT Angiography images.
OCT ANGIOGRAPHY MODULE
Non-invasive vascular imaging
The SPECTRALIS® OCT Angiography Module offers high resolution OCT angiography (OCTA) images with a lateral resolution of 5.7 microns per pixel for visualization of capillaries. An axial resolution of 3.9 microns per pixel enables precise multilayer segmentation and visualization of all four vascular plexuses of the retina.
The SPECTRALIS platform offers the possibility to combine non-invasive OCTA and dye-based, gold-standard FA and ICGA. This hybrid angiography approach allows for follow-ups on existing SPECTRALIS FAs or ICGAs with a direct, pixel to pixel correlation.
The optional Scan Planning Tool automates OCTA scan placement on a region of interest identified on FA/ICGA or any other previously-acquired scanning laser fundus image.
